 The Starting Line started doing business in 1983. In 1999 the business moved to its present location.

Our showroom features many quality brands of apparel, helmets, leather, lace and more.

Our stock rooms contain tires, batteries and everything needed to perform service work.

Performance Background

In 1989, The Starting Line purchased its first dynamometer after being sought by a national company to prototype test such equipment that is used to measures horsepower. This represented the first such pieces of equipment in the State of Maine.
The Starting Line currently owns two types of dynamometers. This equipment has promoted the quality, high performance reputation of the business and has been utilized to promote and sell performance vehicles and services to many customers. This same reputation has been validated in our machine shop to include over forty dealers that utilize The Starting Line's complete machine shop services to assist with their engine remanufacturing.

Today The Starting Line is located in a 10,000 square foot building along a major traveled route in Waterville Maine. Our facility houses a retail showroom of motorcycle, ATV and snowmobile parts  accessories and vehicles. Two of our technicians have over twenty years of employment with the business. The pride in their work is demonstrated  not only in how well their overhauls perform but also in the attention for detail as shown in their vintage restorations.
